   Donna stares out at the window of her bedroom at the millions of stars
creating a light show in the night sky. Space has always fascinated her.
She’s been an avid Trekky for years and has enjoyed every minute of her
Star Trek addiction. She’s watched all the astronomy shows on the
Discovery Channel and even has a framed copy of Maitland’s photo of the
spectacular Orion Nebula. She’s followed all the UFO reports and even
attended a couple of UFO conventions. She’s seen pictures of the face on
Mars, which obviously had to have been built by someone. There has been
much speculation about whether Mars may have been inhabited at one
time, yet now it seems to be a dead planet. Donna wonders what could
have happened. . . did the inhabitants somehow cause the destruction of
their world? Could it happen to earth? What fatal error had they made?

She stares out at the twinkling stars scattered through the heavens, and
dreams of flying out through space and exploring other worlds. The desire
is so strong as it wells up inside her that it feels almost as if her heart will
burst. It’s like an intense homesickness calling to her to return to her home
out there somewhere. But where would that be? She wonders. Somewhere
out there in the heavens among the jewel-like stars.. .a heavenly home.
She remembers her pastor at church talking about the heavenly home that
is the ultimate destination of Christians in the afterlife.. .but somehow, she
could not even put into words what her heart longed for.. . and the...
